Two JC residents charged after MUSTANG Task Force busts

Two Jefferson City residents have been charged after MUSTANG Drug Task Force investigations.

Officers served a search warrant in the 500 block of East McCarty Street on Tuesday.  During the investigation, detectives seized suspected heroin, marijuana, two stolen handguns, ammunition, and a digital scale.

As a result of the search warrant, the resident, Lakeisha A. Collins, 42, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of receiving stolen property and possession of heroin.

Collins is a convicted felon with convictions for unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance in Jan. 2002.

Authorities said Collins is a known heroin distributor in the Jefferson City area.

A second subject located inside the East McCarty residence was identified as Tyrone T. Nickerson, was also arrested and later charged for two outstanding narcotic cases which involved the sale of "crack" cocaine. The sales occurred in May and July of last year.

Also on Tuesday, the Jefferson City Police Department SWAT Team and the MUSTANG Drug Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant in the 600 Block of Jefferson Street. 

During the investigation, detectives seized approximately 50 grams of high grade marijuana and items associated with the packaging and distribution of controlled substances.  Charges for the possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute are pending for the residents who were not home at the time the search warrant.
