EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Missouri State Bears earned a berth in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament with a 3-1 victory Sunday against Evansville.
Erin Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) got the win in relief, pitching the final 42/3 innings. The freshman did not allow a run, scattering four hits while striking out four to improve to 12-11 on the season.
The Bears scored two runs in the top of the seventh to get the win.
Missouri State (27-26 overall, 10-16 MVC) will face Northern Illinois (28-19, 14-12) in the opening game of the tournament Thursday in Normal, Ill.
