Falcons roll to two victories

CAMDENTON - The Blair Oaks Falcons opened the season in fine style Saturday, posting victories against Eugene and Camdenton.

Blair Oaks was a 17-3 winner against Eugene and defeated Camdenton 11-0. The Falcons combined for 20 hits in the victories, seven for extra bases.

Cody Stegeman led the way with four hits, including a double and a triple. Logan Bax and Brent Heckemeyer each had three hits, while Hayden Haney, Ryan Wilbers and Seth Eskens all had two. Haney led the Falcons with six runs scored, while Bax scored four times.

Haney and Bax drove in four runs each, while Eskens and Stegeman totaled three RBI. Heckemeyer, Collin Luebbering, Logan Gratz and Wilbers each had two RBI.

Gratz got the win against Eugene, going the distance in the five-inning contest. He allowed three runs on three hits and six walks, while striking out three.

Bryce Pritchett was the complete-game winner against Camdenton. In five innings, he allowed just one hit and no walks while racking up five strikeouts.

Blair Oaks is back in action at 5 p.m. today against New Bloomfield at the Falcon Athletic Complex.
