Sex offender gets prison for not registering

A Vienna man has been sentenced to three years in prison for pleading guilty to a charge of failing to register as a sex offender in Cole County.

Kenneth Ketcherside, 35, Vienna, was charged in May 2013 after he led Maries County authorities on a chase and wrecked his vehicle.

At the time of the chase, Ketcherside was wanted in Cole County for being a parole absconder for felony failure to register as a sex offender in August 2012.

Authorities found that his Cole County residence was within 1,000 feet of a school or day care center, a violation of his being a convicted sex offender.
