Struemph strikes out 10

STILLWATER, Okla. - Missouri State's Erin Struemph struck out 10 Oklahoma State batters as the Lady Bears salvaged a split with the Cowboys on Sunday in the final day of action at the Mizuno Classic.

After falling to Oklahoma State 5-2 to start the day, Missouri State bounced back for a 5-1 victory.

Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) tossed her fifth complete game of the season, as she scattered 10 hits and walked seven while allowing one earned run.

Missouri State started the event Friday with an 8-6 loss to Drake. Struemph pitched the final inning of the contest, striking out one.

Later on Friday, the Lady Bears lost 11-4 to Minnesota. Struemph started and took the loss, giving up six earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five in 4 1/3 innings.

The Lady Bears are now 12-7 on the season.
