Baseball: UCM Mules fall

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Some late heroics by Brad Wilson forced extra innings, but the Central Missouri Mules still ended up falling Saturday.

Wilson (Helias High School) smacked a solo home run to left field with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game at 3, but Northeastern State scored a run in the bottom of the 11th to win 4-3.

The homer was one of two hits in the game for Wilson, as he also had a double in the third inning.

Wilson also had a homer Friday, a two-run shot in the first inning, as the Mules took the third game of their four-game set by an 8-5 score. That was part of a 4-for-5 day with three RBI for him, as he was just a triple shy of the cycle, hitting two singles and a double to go with his homer.

On Thursday, the Mules and RiverHawks split a twinbill, with Central Missouri winning the opener 3-1 and Northeastern State taking the nightcap 5-4. Wilson went 2-for-4 with one RBI in the second game and had one hit in the first game.

The Mules are now 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
