Post 5 Seniors win 6-1

ST. LOUIS - Trevor Schnieders threw a complete game, allowing four hits and striking out seven as the Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors cruised to a 6-1 win against Prospects King in the first game of a showcase tournament Saturday afternoon.

Schnieders didn't issue an earned run and walked one in seven innings for Post 5, which improves to 9-4 on the year.

Cody Stegeman was 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Cole Distler added two hits and drove in three runs to lead the local team at the plate.

Schnieders also helped his cause on the offensive end, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Hayden Strobel added two hits, while Logan Bax chipped in with one.

Prospects King scored their only run in the bottom of the second, but Post 5 plated two runs in the third, three in the fifth and one in the sixth to put the game away.

The team will play two more games today.
