Jefferson City man accused of leading police on chase

A Jefferson City man is charged with leading police on a chase earlier this month.

Frank Antwi, 43, 518 Hutton Lane, is charged with resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, DWI and driving without a valid license.

Court documents say on the night of June 7, Antwi failed to stop for red lights at multiple intersections, went the wrong way on multiple roundabouts and traveled into oncoming traffic.

In the 3200 block of West Edgewood, officers saw Antwi traveling 58 mph in a 40 mph zone.

When officers tried to pull him over, Antwi failed to stop and led officers on a chase on residential streets at speeds reaching 70 mph.

Officers terminated the chase and Antwi continued driving recklessly, eventually crashing into a residence causing several thousand dollars damage to the home and vehicles.

Antwi fled from the scene on foot, but was apprehended several blocks away.

Antwi later admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving that night.
