Suspect in custody after Wal-Mart shooting

FESTUS, Mo. (AP) -- Police say a suspect is in custody after a Tuesday afternoon shooting at a Jefferson County Wal-Mart.

The shooting occurred around noon at the Festus Wal-Mart on South Truman Boulevard. Local police and the Missouri Highway Patrol responded to the scene.

A spokeswoman for the Bentonville, Arkansas-based company said the store remains closed while the investigation continues. Festus police were not able to immediately provide details on the extent of possible injuries.
