Show-Me Jewelry recently moved from its Holts Summit location to a storefront in Jefferson City's Capital Mall.

Show-Me Gold & Silver opened in its new Capital Mall home last week and is settling in nicely. The Holts Summit business, which does jewelry repair, buys, sells and trades silver and gold, was opened by brother-sister duo Susie Rogers and Mike Acree in November 2012.

Rogers said they made the move on May 31, with the new location providing more space and the chance to change its displays and update its showcase.

The store is set near the center of the mall in the JCPenney wing, next door to Kay Jewelers.

"We are the only in-store jewelry repair in the mall," Rogers said.

The store is looking forward to all the foot traffic the mall provides, and Rogers said she hopes to see the mall's popularity grow back to how it was 20 years ago. Rogers started out working in the mall with a bench jeweler many years ago, and has now come full circle.

Show-Me Gold & Silver makes nearly 70 percent of its jewelry locally. Two of its artisans are "Best of Missouri Hands" juried artisans. The store also works on sterling silver, has estate jewelry and Indian jewelry, and sells bridal sets and jewelry by virtual catalog.

The owners encourage their customers, new and old, to stop in for a visit. "It is a really inviting shop," Rogers said.
