Girls Basketball: St. Elizabeth 68, Eugene 39

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - St. Elizabeth bounced back.

After falling to Blair Oaks to open the Fatima Blue and Gold Tournament, the fifth-seeded Lady Hornets rebounded with a 68-39 victory against seventh-seeded Eugene in a loser's bracket semifinal Wednesday night.

St. Elizabeth jumped out to a 13-3 advantage after one quarter before taking a 36-8 lead into halftime and a 58-29 edge into the final period.

Savannah Stiles paced the Lady Hornets with 27 points. Allie Heckemeyer added 18 points while Mackenzie Struemph added 12.

Tori Adrian led Eugene with 12 points.

St. Elizabeth (5-4) continues tournament play Friday against Chamois in the fifth-place game.
