As I sat and read the News Tribune on Friday, as I faithfully do every morning, I came across a story on page A3 entitled, "Americans are becoming weather wimps." I'm not sure who I should direct this letter at because it does not contain any credits, but I am quite sure that it came down from the same geniuses who are still insisting that our planet is warming despite their ship being stuck in thick ice in an area that was thought by them to be thawed. Imagine that if you will.
Well, I'm cutting straight to the chase now on this story. As in the title of this joke of a news story, and the content of it, all Americans are becoming weather wimps. I'll quote the opening line of this story. "We've become weather wimps." Well excuse me, but where and how exactly did these brilliant masterminds establish that "All"Americans are "weather wimps"?
My best guess is maybe down in the southeast in a major city where they get a one-inch snowfall and they're all crying and freaking out over the entire thing while making runs on store shelves like there's no tomorrow. I don't know about these clowns, but I for one am by no means a wimp, and I resent being drug into this entire "We've" fiasco. That's just me personally, but I'm very confident that I do indeed speak for many many more Americans.
I've been around Central Missouri my entire life. All 54 years of it. I go back to my early childhood and school days for example. There were countless times when it'd be 10 below one day, then sunny and in the 70s for days following. And that was in late December/January. And school did not get called off due to a little snow dusting on the roads as we're seeing nowadays.
Anyways, I'm a Missourian, born and raised. I take the weather as it comes without complaint. So to all you brilliant geniuses in Washington, let's stop this "We're all wimps." Speak for yourselves boys!
