Cole County Sheriff's Department deputies subdued a man who was claiming he was going to set himself on fire.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at the Dollar General in Apache Flats.
One deputy sprayed a fire extinguisher on the man while another took him into custody.
No accelerants were found on the man, but deputies did confiscate a lighter.
The man was later taken to a medical facility for an evaluation.
