Calvary breaks in new gym with split

Kara Wehmeyer scored a game-high 23 points as the Calvary Lutheran Lady Lions claimed a 49-31 win against Green Ridge on Saturday night.

Calvary (1-5) jumped out to a 6-3 lead after one quarter, led 22-17 at halftime, and took a 35-21 lead into the final period.

Brooke Rollins scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds, while Emily Hager chipped in nine points and recorded four steals.

Sam Gumm had nine rebounds and Becca Thompson added four steals to help lead the Lady Lions, who will play at Father Tolton on Tuesday.

Prairie Home jumped out to an early lead and went on to claim a 44-28 win against the Calvary boys Saturday night.

The Panthers took an 18-15 halftime lead, but entered the final period with a 29-18 advantage.

Trevor Dusheke scored 13 points to lead Calvary (3-4), which travels Tuesday to Father Tolton.
