Your Opinion: Godless evolution redefines marriage

Dear Editor:

It is sad and sickening what is happening in our state and our nation today. We have a president that praises Planned Parenthood and has the audacity to ask God to bless this industry of death. There is a callous disregard for the religious freedoms for those of us who hold to Biblical principles as our guideline for living. Escaping tyranny and the pursuit of religious freedom was the driving force behind our forefathers coming to this continent.

Now those who choose to honor God in their everyday lives are intimidated by the very government who is supposed to protect and defend those rights. The IRS and other agencies are being used as the enforcers of a tyrannical return to government control over the people, rather than a government by the people.

We are watching a godless, political evolution in declaring that the definition of marriage is now discriminatory and unconstitutional. This evolution was announced from the White House and is being imposed by federal courts. When those in authority think they know better than we the people, and arbitrarily nullify and overrule the free and open majority votes of the citizens, we had better wake up immediately.

A cancerous agenda is being promoted in our country. It is called rebellion/sin. Truth is always true whether you choose to believe it or not. God has established His laws for man to abide by and has set authorities in place to maintain peace and order. We are commanded to pray for those in positions of authority so that we may live at peace. However, God's word says in Proverbs 16:12 "It is an abomination for kings to commit wicked acts, for a throne is established on righteousness."

When a person in authority violates God's word, we are commanded to fear God rather than man. Romans 1 clearly states that rebellion against God results in His wrath against ungodliness and unrighteousness of man. One indicator of rebellion is degrading passions and unnatural desires of women for women and men for men. Homosexuality is not the greatest sin in the long list of sins, but it is a glaring indication of the depravity of a society. "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."

President Obama, Governor Nixon take warning.
