It's coming down to the final stretch.
And the Lincoln men's and women's basketball teams will look to finish strong when the Blue Tigers travel to St. Charles for the last road game of the season.
The Lincoln women (5-19, 2-15) will take on Lindenwood (13-11, 8-9) at 1 p.m., while the Blue Tiger men (3-22, 1-16) will square off against the Lions (10-17, 5-12) at 3 p.m. in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association matchups today at Hyland Arena.
The Lincoln women are coming off a thrilling 56-55 victory against Missouri Western on Wednesday and will be seeking their first winning streak since November, when the Blue Tigers won back-to-back games against Missouri Baptist and Harris Stowe State.
Lincoln will also be playing for the season sweep against Lindenwood after beating the Lions 67-58 on Feb. 5. The Blue Tigers have won four straight games against Lindenwood and are 5-2 all-time against the Lions, who are coming into the contest with some momentum on their side.
Lindenwood has already clinched its spot in the MIAA Tournament and has won three of its last four games since falling to Lincoln.
Topping the Lions for a second time this season won't be an easy task.
Lindenwood is ranked fourth in the league in scoring offense and also has the best 3-point percentage and the second-best field-goal percentage in the MIAA.
Kassidy Gengenbachers leads three players in double figures with 14.9 points per game, while Caroline Bourlious (12 ppg) and Marissa Lehnig (10.9) round out the top scorers for the Lions.
Helias grad Bre Zanders is averaging 4.3 ppg in seven starts in her freshman year at Lindenwood.
Jennifer Rosado, the hero in Lincoln's win against Missouri Western, continues to lead the Blue Tigers with 13.5 points per game. Hunter Yoakum, who has started 16 games as a freshman, is next in line with 10.4 ppg.
Lincoln is also aided by Angela Randall (9.1 ppg) and Quiessence Price (6.8 ppg). Price hit two key shots late in Wednesday's game, while Randall leads the Blue Tigers in rebounding (6.0), assists (2.6), and steals (2.0).
Meanwhile, the Lincoln men will look to bounce back from a 82-65 loss to Missouri Western on Wednesday and end a four-game losing streak in the process.
The Blue Tigers haven't won a game since edging the Lions 74-73 on Feb. 6.
Lindenwood has struggled since then, having lost three of its last four, but the Lions are still clinging to the 12th and final seed to earn a spot in the MIAA Tournament.
Darris Smith is Lindenwood's top scorer with 15.3 points per game, while Garrett Reeg is close behind with 14.3.
Mike Smith and Joshua Buie are both averaging 15.8 points per game, while James Edmond Jr. is coming off 20-point performance Wednesday to lead the Blue Tigers offensively.
Both Lincoln programs will close out the season March 1 at home.
