The first day for filing as a candidate for Missouri's 2014 primary and general elections is Feb. 25.
Candidates are urged to visit www.sos.mo.gov/elections/2014primary for more information and an overview of the filing process.
Candidates must file in person at the secretary of state's office at 600 W. Main St. Filing takes place between 8 a.m. Feb. 25 through 5 p.m. March 25. Exceptions are members of the armed services on active duty or a physical disability that prevents a person from appearing in person.
Those filing on the first day will be entered into a random number drawing to determine the order of ballot placement on the primary ballot.
Offices that file with Kander's office this year include: auditor; U.S. representative; state senator in even-numbered districts, state representation and certain judges.
