Lincoln to start baseball season Sunday

The Lincoln baseball team announced Friday it is canceling a previously scheduled home series against Nebraska-Kearney and is adding a double-header Sunday at Missouri S&T.

Due to the unplayable conditions at Lincoln Field, and with no fields available within reasonable driving distance for either team, the Blue Tigers and Nebraska-Kearney agreed to chancel a four-games series, which was set to kick off today.

Despite both programs being members of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, each of the four games were going to be considered non-conference contests, and will not be rescheduled.

Instead, Lincoln will now play two games in Rolla against Missouri S&T, a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, on Sunday. The doubleheader is set to kick off at noon and will mark the season opener for both squads.
