Lincoln to host NW Missouri State

The Lincoln Blue Tigers men's and women's basketball teams will be looking to do something special this afternoon -put together winning streaks.

Lincoln and Northwest Missouri State will meet in a men's-women's doubleheader for the second time in eight days this afternoon, with this one played at Jason Gym.

Action will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the women's game between Lincoln (4-16 overall, 1-12 MIAA) and Northwest Missouri State (8-12, 5-8).

Lincoln is coming off its first conference victory of the season, a 67-58 win at home against Lindenwood. Jennifer Rosado finished with 23 points to lead the Blue Tigers.

Northwest Missouri has bounced back with three consecutive conference victories after winning just two of its first 10 in the MIAA.

Last Saturday in Maryville, the Bearcats defeated the Blue Tigers 55-47.

The men's game between Lincoln (3-18, 1-12) and Northwest Missouri State (17-5, 12-1) will follow at 3:30 p.m.

Like the women, the Lincoln men picked up their first MIAA win of the season Thursday by defeating Lindenwood 74-73 at Jason Gym. Joshua Buie finished with 18 points for Lincoln, including a big 3-pointer late in the contest.

Northwest Missouri, which has five players averaging in double figures, enters today's action with a two-game lead against Central Missouri in the conference standings.

Last Saturday in Maryville, Northwest Missouri was a 92-59 winner against Lincoln.

After this afternoon's action, Lincoln will return to action Wednesday night at Central Missouri.
