Robbery, drugs put Holts Summit man in prison

A Holts Summit man, charged in connection with a July 2013 robbery in the 1200 block of East Capitol Avenue, has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Andrew Rotter, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

Jefferson City police reports showed the SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics Division) team served a search warrant after the investigation suggested methamphetamine was being used and sold at the residence on East Capitol.

The city code enforcement department later inspected and condemned the house.

Officers said three victims came to the house to collect $20 owed to them, when Rotter and three others robbed them at gunpoint.

Two of the victims fled while the third was held at gunpoint and had his pockets emptied.
