Plato 55, St. Elizabeth 45

The Plato Lady Eagles used a strong third quarter to claim to claim a 55-45 win against St. Elizabeth in the first round of the Crocker Tournament on Monday night.

Plato, ranked seventh in Class 2, overcame a three-point deficit in the third quarter by outscoring St. Elizabeth 18-6 in the frame to take a 44-35 advantage into the final period. The teams were tied at 14 after the first quarter, before the Lady Hornets took a 29-26 lead into halftime.

Savannah Stiles scored 23 points, while Megan Kemna recorded her second-career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead St. Elizabeth. Allie Heckemeyer scored seven points to go along with six rebounds and five assists to help pace the Lady Eagles.

Kalea Kimrey poured in a game-high 24 points, while Lexi Mcniel added 15, and Tia Fletcher chipped in with 11 to lead Plato (14-4).

St. Elizabeth (11-7) will take on Crocker at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
