JC man pleads guilty on drug charges

April 26th, 2014 in News

A Jefferson City man, considered by authorities as a "high level" heroin dealer, has pleaded guilty to several charges in federal court.

Tracy Davis, 46, is facing seven counts of distribution of heroin and one count of distribution of morphine.

Authorities said Davis was a heroin distributor suspected to be linked to several heroin overdoses throughout Central Missouri.

The incidents Davis is charged with occurred between October 2012 and January 2013.

There was no word on when Davis could be sentenced.

Court documents show Jefferson City police used a confidential informant to make purchases from Davis on several occasions.

When taken in and questioned by authorities, Davis admitted selling heroin after being confronted with video recordings of a sale he was involved in.

Davis said he would obtain heroin from one of his sources when someone came to him looking for heroin.

The users would typically purchase amounts of a half-gram or less, which would sell for approximately $100, and that a gram would sell for approximately $200 to $300.
