Weekend events celebrate Easter

Here's a schedule of Jefferson City area Easter-related events and church services this weekend.

HOLY SATURDAY

• 9-11 a.m. Easter carnival, egg hunt, devotion and breakfast for ages birth to fifth grade at Corticelli Baptist Church, Russellville.

• 10 a.m. Easter egg hunt at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Russellville.

• 2 p.m. Hallelujah Egg Hunt will begin at 2 p.m. for three age groups up to age 12 with more than 2,000 eggs available at Highway 54 Church of Christ, 4217 Greenbrier Drive.

• 6 p.m. worship and Hallelujah Celebration for Kids at First United Methodist Church, 201 Monroe St. Nursery provided for infants through 3-year-olds.

• 7 p.m. Easter Vigil at St. Martin Church.

• 8:30 p.m. Easter Vigil at St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway.

EASTER SUNDAY

• 6 a.m. Easter Sunrise Services will be held at Harvest Time Ministries Church of Holts Summit, followed by breakfast. A Candlelight Communion with worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by an Easter egg hunt for children ages birth-age 12.

• 6:30 a.m. Sunrise service at the Governor's Garden, followed by breakfast at 7:15 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison St.

• 6:30 a.m. Sunrise service at Faith Lutheran Church, 2027 Industrial Drive, followed by senior youth Easter breakfast at 7 a.m.

• 6:30 a.m. Sunrise service hosted by Jamestown Ministerial Alliance at the Jamestown High School, led by the Rev. Tim Redmond. Breakfast will follow at 8 a.m.

• 6:30 a.m. Sunrise Service and Breakfast at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Russellville. Bible study at 9:30 a.m. and Easter service at 10:30 a.m.

• 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunrise Service and Community Worship Service at Corticelli Baptist Church, Russellville, featuring a community choir. Breakfast will follow.

• 7, 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. Easter Sunday services at St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway.

• 7 a.m. Sunrise Baptismal Service at Community Christian Church, followed by breakfast.

• 8 a.m. Early Easter Service at Community of Christ Church, 1620 Vieth Drive, followed by Easter brunch.

• 8 and 10 a.m. Easter Mass at St. Martin Church.

• 8 and 10:30 a.m. Easter play at Fountain of Life Family Worship Center, 95 Grant St.

• 8 and 10:30 a.m. Worship service at Faith Lutheran Church, 2027 Industrial Drive, with Flowering of the Cross at 9:15 a.m.

• 8 and 10:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite I and II at Grace Episcopal Church, 217 Adams St.

• 8 a.m. Early Easter service at Centertown Baptist Church, Centertown, followed by 8:30 a.m. breakfast. Bible study at 9:30 a.m., worship at 10:30 a.m. and children's Easter egg hunt at 11:30 a.m.

• 8 a.m. Resurrection Sunday Service led by Leslie Galbreath, Terri Robinson and Kimberley Woodruff at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 415 Lafayette St. Breakfast will follow.

• 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday Celebration with the theme "Resetting Life's Compass" at First Baptist Church, 301 E. Capitol Ave. Nursery for children age 0-3.

• 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. Easter services at First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison St.

• 8:45 a.m. Easter breakfast and devotion at St. John's Lutheran Church, Schubert, followed by worship at 10 a.m.

• 9, 10 and 11 a.m. Easter worship and Hallelujah Celebration for Kids at First United Methodist Church, 201 Monroe St. Nursery provided for infants through 3-year-olds.

• 9:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages Russellville Baptist Church, Russellville, followed by 10:30 a.m. Easter Worship Service with special music by the choir. Nursery provided.

• 9:30 a.m. worship service at Community Christian Church, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt.

• 10 a.m. choir presentation of "See What a Morning" at Memorial Baptist Church, 1120 Madison St.

• 10:30 a.m. worship service at Freshwater Church, located inside Calvary Lutheran High School, 2525 Route B.

• 10:30 a.m. Easter service at Community of Christ Church, 1620 Vieth Drive.

• 10:30 a.m. Easter musical by children at Corticelli Baptist Church, Russellville.

• 10:30 a.m. Resurrection Celebration worship at Highway 54 Church of Christ, 4217 Greenbrier Drive, preceded by a free, full breakfast at 9 a.m.

• 11 a.m. Double Monologue with Sarah and Mary at Russellville Assembly of God, Russellville, followed by an Easter egg hunt.

• 11 a.m. Resurrection Sunday Service led by the Rev. Dr. Cassandra Gould with the theme "Three words at the Empty Tomb," at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 415 Lafayette St.

• about 11:30 a.m. Giant Easter Egg Hunt at Riverside Park with more than 7,000 eggs and lots of free stuff, following the 10:30 a.m. service at Fountain of Life Family Worship Center, 95 Grant St.,

• 1 p.m. La Misa en Espanol at St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway.

• 5 p.m. Easter Faith Rocks Service at Faith Lutheran Church, 2027 Industrial Drive.

• 5 p.m. Sunday Night Live@5 Easter Service at First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison St.
