EUGENE, Mo. - Three incumbents will return to the Cole County R-5 Board of Education, according to unofficial election results.

Nathan Lepper won the most votes, 125, in the school board contest in Cole and Miller counties. Jennifer Baur came in second, with 121 total votes. Cindy Darnel received 113 votes for the third seat on the board.

Rance Renn received 98 votes.

The mother of nine children, eight school-aged, Baur said she was very happy to be re-elected.

"We've made a lot of changes in the last three years," she said.

Also serving as president of the Eugene High School PTO, Baur said she has been in a good position to talk with students and teachers at a variety of age levels to find out what's going on that the board should address.

For example, Baur hopes the board will work on the food service in the near future to make it more pleasing.

Darnel agreed she is looking forward to helping the school improve in the next three years.

"I've really enjoyed being on there, to try to make a difference and make education a priority," she said.
