Several area athletes participated in the event as well. Missouri Southern's Tyler Rush (Linn High School) finished 32nd on the men's side helping lead the Lions to a first-place finish. He finished in 25:59.35.
Chase Barbarick (Linn) competed in the event for Missouri S&T. He finished 133rd in 27:57.26.
On the women's side Southwest Baptist's Briana Watson (Jefferson City High School) took 13th-place overall to help the Lady Bearcats to a first-place finish. Emily Cumpton (Blair Oaks High School) finished 39th with a time of 19:05.09.
A pair of area runners helped Missouri Southern finish in third place overall. Adelene Mengwasser (Chamois High School) was 12th with a time of 18:19.19 and Lizy Kirby (California High School) finished 32nd with a time of 18:54.18.
William Woods took ninth place in the men's college division. Kaleb Wilson (Linn) took 12th place with a time of 26:32.72. Travers Hopkins (California) was 72nd with a time of 28:18.68 and Zach Bryant (Russellville High School) was 74th with a time of 28:20.19.
Central Methodist's Elise Schreiber (Jefferson City) finished 57th in the women's 5K with a time of 20:07.73. The Lady Eagles were third.
William Woods runner Alex Apperson (Eldon High School) finished 84th with a time of 20:59.03. William Woods finished fifth.
Westminster, which finished ninth, had a pair of area runners compete as Sarah Koestner (Russellville) finished in 21st with a time of 18:58.51 and Lilly Willis (Jefferson City) finished 69th with a time of 20:28.48.
