WARDSVILLE, Mo. - Playing slightly more than two quarters, the Blair Oaks starters on defense made their presence felt.

The Falcons racked up five sacks, blocked two punts and intercepted a pass while blanking the Southern Boone Eagles 48-0 at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

"There was improvement, and there's still room for more improvement, but there were some really good things that happened tonight," Blair Oaks coach Brad Drehle said.

The Blair Oaks starters gave up less than 100 yards of total offense before departing early in the third quarter with a 41-0 lead.

In the end, the Falcons ended up with a 470-156 advantage in total yards while improving to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Tri-County Conference.

The Eagles, meanwhile, dropped to 1-3 and 0-2.

Blair Oaks scored on the game's first play from scrimmage, as Dominic Jamerson raced 74 yards for a touchdown just 22 seconds into the game. Chris Cooper followed and started a perfect 6-of-6 night on PATs to make it 7-0.

Just three minutes later, the Falcons made it 14-0 on a 25-yard scoring run by Caleb Bischoff.

Blair Oaks then tacked on three touchdowns in the second quarter - all on passes from Jordan Hair. The sophomore connected on scoring strikes of 41 yards to Haydn Lock, 10 yards to Jamerson and 69 yards to Mikel Drehle.

Up 34-0 at halftime, Blair Oaks had a 361-61 edge in yardage, as Southern Boone rushed the ball 27 times for just 16 yards.

"Our tackling needed to improve and we took a step forward tonight," Brad Drehle said.

The Falcons' final two scores came in the third quarter, on a 34-yard run by Jamerson and a 47-yard dash by Bischoff.

The duo had a big night, as Jamerson had 143 yards on just six carries and Bischoff racked up 130 yards on seven carries.

Hair ended up completing 10-of-16 passes for 123 yards.

David Holland, the main threat in the Southern Boone lineup, ended up with just 62 yards rushing on 21 carries.

Blair Oaks returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday when it travels to School of the Osage.
