Blue Jays get first win

FULTON - The Westminster football team picked up its first win of the season Saturday as the Blue Jays dropped Crown (Minn.) by a 35-14 margin.

The game was tied at 14 at half, but Westminster scored 21 unanswered points after the break to win it.

Westminster's Mike Washington (Jefferson City High School) tied for the game high in catches with seven, racking up 85 yards.

Austin Kempker (Blair Oaks High School) added one catch for 12 yards for the Blue Jays.

C.J. Vaughan (Jefferson City High School) had two solo tackles and four assists for Westminster, including 1 1/2 tackles for loss. Jeremy Hill (Southern Boone High School) had one solo and two assists, Bret Robertson (California High School) had one solo and one assist and Michael Lutz (California High School) had one assist.
