Woman gets probation for drugs, lying to police

A Jefferson City woman was placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to charges after police found a large amount of narcotics in her home and after she gave false information about someone breaking into her home and assaulting her in February.

Taleesha Brown, 33, of 615 Ohio St., was charged with possession of cocaine and resisting arrest.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows Brown said she gave the false information so her boyfriend would not get in trouble.

A search of the residence turned up 19 individually wrapped bags of marijuana, five individually wrapped bags of suspected crack cocaine, a measuring scale and two boxes of sandwich bags used for packaging narcotics.
