Chicago woman placed on probation on drug charge

A Chicago resident who was taken into custody in Jefferson City in June has been placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to one count of distribution of heroin.

Tatum Carter, 33, admitted to distributing heroin from May through June.

She must also complete a 120-day shock detention sentence in the Cole County Jail, with credit for time served and stay in Missouri until approved for transfer to Illinois.

When taken into custody, Carter was on probation for fraudulently trying to obtain a controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance. She was also considered a persistent drug offender with two prior drug convictions.
