Police: Driver arrested after fleeing accident scene

Jefferson City police took a driver into custody after he allegedly fled the scene of a Saturday night crash.

Officers were called around 7:32 p.m. to the 2100 block of St. Mary's Boulevard to investigate a rollover crash with injuries.

Police allege that a 1998 Isuzu pickup truck, driven by 17-year-old Joshua A. Guinn of Jefferson City, was traveling eastbound on St. Mary's Boulevard when it ran off the road to the left and struck a parked car. The truck then rolled onto its side and slid down the road striking 2 more vehicles. The truck then came to a rest on its wheels in the intersection of St. Mary's and William Street.

Police report one of two passengers in the truck -- Taylor Gee, 17, of Holts Summit -- was transported to St. Mary's Health Center with minor injuries. A second passenger -- Thomas Schnieders, 18, of Jefferson City -- was unhurt, according to the crash report.

The driver was later located and taken into custody on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident. All the vehicle's occupants were wearing their seat belts, police report.
