Dear Editor:
I have two questions regarding the controversy concerning the Washington Redskins.
First, for background, my eighth great-grandmother emigrated with her Puritan family to present-day Massachusetts in the 1630s. Many other ancestors followed in the 1700s. Several served in the Revolutionary War and the War Between the States. My third great-grandmother was Cherokee, who grew up in Bullfrog Valley, Ark.
Two questions: At what point am I considered a "native American?" What am I, if not a "native American?"
