Dear Editor:
My wife and I recently tried to voice our opinions to Barack Obama, Claire McCaskill, Blaine Luetkemeyer and Roy Blunt. The White House contact has been closed due to the shutdown and Claire McCaskill's as well.
It saddens us to know the very people whom we (the citizens of the United States) elected to serve us are not available to hear our opinions of what they are doing. We want the spoiled brats to work together and come up with a plan to restart government and agree to find a solution to the debt ceiling issue.
We prefer cuts over raising the debt ceiling, which is one issue Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi do not want to negotiate on. We cannot continue to spend money we do not have and raise the debt ceiling at any time without spinning our country out of financial control. Democrats want to blame the Republicans for wanting to negotiate when Harry Reid committed "I will not negotiate."
As a disabled veteran, I am very disappointed in the federal government not paying our disability compensation, which me and my fellow disabled veterans deserve.
Democrats quit holding us all hostage of your same ole spend, spend, spend until the United States becomes just a former country and world leading nation.
