The American Cancer Society is hosting a Relay for Life kickoff rally at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Hyde Park Conference Room at 2409-C Hyde Park Road. The conference room is located in the complex that houses the American Cancer Society.
The celebration is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the event and how to get involved.
Relay For Life is an overnight, community event that honors cancer survivors, current cancer patients and caregivers. Relay also pays tribute to those who have lost their battle with cancer. At the event, individuals camp out, barbecue, dance and take turns walking around a track to raise funds to fight cancer.
Relay For Life of Cole County is June 6-7, 2014, at the Jefferson City Jaycees Fairgrounds. This year's theme is "Once Upon A Cure."
