Meeting on Katy Trail State Park set for Oct. 12

Missourians with ideas about how the state should operate the Katy Trail State Park are invited to bring their ideas to an informational meeting on Oct. 12 at the Katy Trail depot in Hartsburg.

The meeting, from 1-3 p.m., is being held during the annual Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival, at the Katy Trail State Park informational booth.

The focus will emphasize the Katy Trail section from Portland, in eastern Callaway County, to the Missouri River crossing at Boonville.

Missouri State Parks is hosting the meeting as part of an ongoing effort to ensure that citizens have input on facilities and services offered in state parks and historic sites.

Individuals requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the Katy Trail Park's Columbia headquarters, 573-449-7402.

The public also is invited to stop by the booth throughout the festival, Oct. 13-14, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., to get more information about Katy Trail State Park.
