Jays post historic win against SLUH

ST. LOUIS - It was a monumental 1-0 win Tuesday for the Jefferson City Jays.

For the first time in the history of the soccer program, Jefferson City defeated traditional state power St. Louis University High School.

Marcus Woodruff recorded the lone goal of the contest, assisted by Logan Horn.

Zach Brooks got the shutout in goal for the Jays.

Jefferson City (8-1, ranked No. 7 in Class 3 by the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association) is back in action this weekend in the Gateway City Classic in St. Louis. The Jays will open their eight-team bracket against Belleville (Ill.) West at 5 p.m. Friday at DeSmet High School.
