A mechanical problem at a substation led to around 3,000 Ameren Missouri customers being without power for about an hour, Friday morning.
Company officials said the outage occurred around 8:40 a.m. at the Rainbow Substation on Rainbow Drive.
All customers had their power restored by 9:45 a.m.
The outage affected much of the west side of Jefferson City, including the area around Capital Mall, and stretched to Centertown.
