Maryville holds off Lincoln women

After falling behind by as many as 18, the Lincoln University women's basketball team pulled to within seven with 2:30 remaining, but Maryville held off the comeback to claim a 71-61 victory on Saturday afternoon at Jason Gym.

The Blue Tigers (1-4) placed three in double figures, including Jackeya Mitchell, who led with 14 points. Jaleisha Barrett scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Jennifer Rosado added 10 points and three steals.

Maryville (3-2) had a 54-36 lead with 10:02 left to play.

Lincoln will play at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Thanksgiving Tournament. Lincoln will play Missouri Baptist on Friday and Harris Stowe State on Saturday.
