Hayes signs with Redhawks

Jefferson City senior Riley Hayes recently signed a national letter of intent to play Division I softball at Southeast Missouri State University.

Attending the signing ceremony with Hayes were her parents, Sherry and Greg, Missouri Stealth coach Greg Logston, Jefferson City assistant coach Kyle Lasley, Jefferson City head coach Lisa Dey and Jefferson City assistant coach Zach Miller.

Hayes was a four-time all-district selection, earning first-team honors the past three seasons. She also was a two-time all-region selection, earning first-team honors.

"Riley has a great arm and a chance to team up with our returning catchers to make this position one of the best in the Ohio Valley Conference," SEMO coach Lana Richmond said. "This was a key factor in recruitment. Riley brings in quality playing experience from Jefferson City High School and the Missouri Stealth ASA summer team. She has been coached by one of the best in former All-America softball player Lisa (Dey)."
