One in custody after early morning chase

A Versailles man was taken into custody after leading Jefferson City police on a chase early Tuesday morning that ended up in the Holts Summit area.

Police reports show that at 2 a.m. a vehicle, driven by Martin Fisher, 35, was involved in a collision with a building at Joe Machens Ford on Southwest Boulevard.

An officer attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.

Fisher, driving a green Ford minivan, failed to yield to emergency vehicles and traveled down Missouri Boulevard to Bolivar Street where it then turned onto westbound McCarty Street.

Fisher then drove the wrong way onto the ramp to U.S. 54 traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes.

He continued on to Holts Summit where Holts Summit police assisted in the pursuit.

Fisher turned onto Rt OO and crashed near Callaway County Rd 391. He was taken into custody after a short foot chase.

Fisher was transported to St Mary's Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash and later released to police custody.

He was arrested for DWI and numerous other traffic offenses.
