Can anybody stop the California Pintos in the Class 3 District 6 Tournament?
The fifth-seeded Fulton Hornets will get their opportunity against the top seed at 7 p.m. today in a district semifinal.
California (9-1) is coming off a 69-0 pasting of the Missouri Military Academy in its district opener last Thursday.
Fulton (5-5) needed a last-minute touchdown pass from Sam Christensen to Noah Braun to sneak past fourth-seeded Chillicothe 34-30.
Now the two meet with a spot in the district title game on the line. The Centralia-Macon winner awaits Monday in the championship.
Christensen has filled in admirably for Joe Schlemeier, who injured his knee the last game of the regular season and is out indefinitely. Christensen is 27-of-51 passing for 392 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Fulton features a two-headed monster in the backfield with Travis Dean and Kegan Lee. Dean leads the Hornets with 930 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns while Lee has racked up 589 rushing yards and nine scores.
Dalton Horstmeier and Chris Tilson are the main receiving threats. Both have six touchdown receptions and own more than 700 rushing yards apiece.
Cole Kettle leads the defense with 127 total tackles.

Salem at Eldon
The Eldon Mustangs are up to their old tricks.
A year after advancing to the Class 3 quarterfinals, Eldon is just two wins away from a return trip.
As the top seed in the Class 3 District 3 Tournament, that scenario seems like a legitimate possibility.
Eldon (7-3) hosts fourth-seeded Salem (5-5) at 7 p.m. today.
The Mustangs are coming off a 55-26 victory against eighth-seeded Versailles in the opening round of the playoffs, a game played in Versailles due to a rain-soaked Victor Field in Eldon that looked likely to host a few games in a row.
Dylan Wood racked up 114 rushing yards on 15 carries and a touchdown while filling in for the absent Raymond Kwok and injured Dalton Lister. Logan Shinn racked up 145 yards on 17 carries with a score and quarterback Wyatt Greenwalt completed 4-of-7 passes for 137 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Salem is coming off a wild 43-40 victory against School of the Osage.
Zayne Kyser appears to be the go-to guy for the Tigers after his jaw-dropping performance against the Indians. Kyser racked up 338 yards on 35 carries to go along with five touchdowns on the ground.
The Ava-Springfield Catholic winner awaits in the district final.

Montgomery Co. at S. Callaway
Get ready for the rematch.
South Callaway and Montgomery County met in the regular-season finale for both teams, with the former taking a 20-0 decision.
Now second-seeded South Callaway (9-1) and third-seeded Montgomery County (9-1) meet again with much more on the line. The Bulldogs and Wildcats are playing for a berth in Class 2 District 6 Tournament championship, likely against the Blair Oaks Falcons, at 7 p.m. today.
South Callaway opened with a 54-0 pasting of Lutheran: St. Peters in the first round of the playoffs, while Montgomery County escaped with a 24-14 victory against North Callaway.
Garner Rudroff scored a pair of touchdowns in the first meeting for South Callaway, while Cory Hanger returned an interception for a score.
Hanger leads the Bulldogs with 633 rushing yards, but both Rudroff and Hanger have seven rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Troy Hentges has nine scores on the ground with 405 yards. He's completed 48-of-87 passes for 856 yards with 11 touchdowns to four interceptions.
Quarterback Evan Milner does it all for Montgomery County, racking up 432 rushing yards with nine scores while completing 56-of-89 passes for 863 yards with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Dylan Skeens has racked up 433 rushing yards with two scores while Kyle Kroll has seven touchdowns on just 284 yards rushing.
Justin Hall and Luke Longstreet both have more than 300 receiving yards and five touchdown catches.

Sedalia S-C at Camdenton
A fresh Camdenton team finally gets to begin the postseason.
After a first-round bye, the top-seeded Camdenton Lakers host fourth-seeded Sedalia Smith-Cotton at 7 p.m. today in a Class 5 District 4 Tournament semifinal contest.
Smith-Cotton is coming off a 36-7 victory against fifth-seeded Washington last Friday. Now the Tigers turn around and play one of Class 5's best five days later.
Camdenton (9-1) is riding a five-game winning streak that stretches back to late September. The Lakers could be a bit rusty, not having played since a 42-6 victory against Glendale on Oct. 25.
Bo Dean quarterbacks the Lakers, having completed 118-of-173 passes for 1,610 yards with 19 touchdowns to just three interceptions.
Dean's favorite target is Kullen Carlock, a senior with 939 receiving yards and 10 touchdown receptions.
Luke Burris leads Camdenton with 435 rushing yards and has found the end zone four times on the ground. Matt Endsley owns nine rushing touchdowns and 333 yards.
Smith-Cotton loves to run the ball, racking up 2,746 rushing yards on the season. Chance McMullin leads the way with 1,136 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Dakota Brown has 761 rushing yards and nine touchdowns while Jacob Weeks has 499 rushing yards and six scores.
