Soccer postseason gets into full swing

The Jefferson City Jays will open their soccer postseason this afternoon when they take on the Lebanon Yellowjackets in the Class 3 District 10 Tournament.

Game time is 4 p.m. in Lebanon.

The Jays (18-6, ranked No. 6 in Class 3 by the Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association) are the No. 1 seed in the four-team tournament. Jefferson City and Lebanon (10-11-3) did not play in the regular season.

The other first-round game today will pit second-seeded Waynesville against third-seeded Camdenton at 6 p.m.

The title game is slated for 5 p.m. Thursday.

The District 10 winner will play at the District 9 champion in the sectionals Tuesday, Nov. 12. Rock Bridge is the No. 1 seed in District 9.

The Helias Crusaders will start play Tuesday in the Class 2 District 10 Soccer Tournament at Bolivar.

Second-seeded Helias (16-5, ranked No. 10) will face third-seeded Bolivar at 6:30 p.m. in the second of Tuesday's semifinals. The first will pit top-seeded Rolla, No. 2 in the state against the winner of today's play-in game between Battle and Marshfield.

The championship game is set for 6 p.m. Thursday.

The District 10 winner will play at the District 9 champion Tuesday, Nov. 12. St. Francis Borgia is the No. 1 seed in District 9.

Action begins today in the Class 1 District 8 Soccer Ttournament at Westphalia.

Fourth-seeded Calvary Lutheran will face fifth-seeded Iberia in a 5 p.m. contest today.

The semifinals will be played Tuesday, with host Fatima taking on the Calvary-Iberia winner at 7 p.m. The title game is set for 6 p.m. Thursday.

The District 8 champion will travel to the District 7 champion for sectionals Wednesday, Nov. 12. Southern Boone is the No. 1 seed in the District 7 event.
