SEDALIA - The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Juniors won a pair of games in the Sedalia Memorial Day Tournament on Saturday.
Post 5 started with a 12-0 over Chillicothe.
An eight-run first inning got things going.
Sam Bowles was the winning pitcher, tossing six scoreless frames.
Jaden Barr went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and four RBI.
Post 5 then defeated Oak Grove 17-2.
This time it was 10-run first inning to put things away.
James Reinkemeyer was the winning pitcher, striking out four and allowing three hits in five innings of work. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBI.
Alec Verhoff went 2-for-3 with three RBI and Barr and Bowles both had two hits.
