MOKANE, Mo. -- In her final commencement address Friday night, outgoing South Callaway R-II Superintendent Mary Lynn Battles advised the 55-member graduating Class of 2013, among other things, to "dream extra large, and believe you can grow into it."
Noting that, "I am not ready to see you all go," salutatorian Erin Garland reflected that her class had all been there for each others' major milestones, from learning the ABCs and how to tie their shoes to blooming into young adults.
Valedictorian Mackenzie Sconce (who also celebrated her birthday Friday) followed up with asking her fellow graduates to seize the opportunities offered to them and "show the world what the class of 2013 can do."
The senior Bulldogs already have proven their academic prowess; counselor Lindsey Even listed off the scholarships and recognition earned by the graduates, who collectively garnered more than $502,000 in scholarships.
