Lincoln to host boys basketball camps

The Lincoln University men's basketball team will host a series of camps for boys this summer.

The camps will be open to all grade school, junior high and high school students wanting to gain valuable game experience as well as individual player development.

Three different camps will be held in Jason Gym, the home court of the Blue Tigers. A session for students in grades 5-6 will be held June 10-13, a session for those in grades 7-8 will be held June 17-20, and a session for those entering grades 9-12 in the fall will take place June 24-27. The camps will run from 1-5 p.m. each day for all three sessions.

The enrollment fee includes a camp T-shirt. A medical waiver must also be signed by a parent or guardian for each student prior to participation. The registration and waiver form can be found on www.lubluetigers.com, or can be picked up on campus at the athletic department.

The camps are designed for players of all skill levels and abilities. Participants are taught all aspects of the game, with an emphasis on fundamentals and team play. Students will learn drills to help improve their overall skills while enjoying a fun, energetic and positive camp atmosphere. The sessions will also include instructional periods, including an offensive lecture designed to advance the individual player.
