More Heroin related arrests in JC

The Jefferson City Police Department's Community Action Team has investigated two separate incidents involving a heroin overdose earlier this week.

Police reports show on Tuesday officers responded to an unconscious male in an apartment on Sunset Lake Rd.

The man was identified as Michael L. Strader, 32, Jefferson City, and was found was lying on the floor with a needle protruding from his arm and unresponsive.

Emergency medical personnel revived Strader and transported him to the Capitol Region Medical Center Emergency Room.

An investigation at the scene revealed heroin and paraphernalia associated with heroin use in the Strader's apartment.

Strader was later released from the hospital and arrested for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, officers were flagged down in the 1000 block of Madison Street in reference to an unconscious male laying in a yard.

Officers located the suspect, later identified as Shawn Moore, 33, Jefferson City, unresponsive in the yard, bleeding from his arm.

Emergency personnel revived Moore and transported him to the Capitol Region Medical Center Emergency Room.

Officers searched the area and located a syringe containing heroin near the Moore's location.

More was later released from the hospital and arrested.

When officers attempted to arrest Moore he attempted to assault the officers and struggled to get away.

Officers subdued Moore and took him into custody.

He is charged with possession of heroin, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.
