An investigation is ongoing into how an email account at a private Christian school in Jefferson City was hacked.
School officials at Lighthouse Preparatory Academy said the incident apparently occurred sometime Sunday night.
School Administrator Mike Rapp would not say what was in the email, but did say it involved a "school matter" and that classes were canceled for Monday.
After it was noticed, school officials began calling parents to let them know the email was false and classes would be in session.
Rapp added that they are working to recover their current email account.
