MARSHALL - Two Jamestown athletes advanced out of the Class 1 District 5 track and field meet Monday at Marshall High School.
Mickayla Strother qualified for sectionals in the 100-meter hurdles and 100-meter dash, while Garrett Joens qualified in the 1,600-meter run.
The Class 1 Sectional 3 meet is Saturday at Marshall.
The Jamestown boys finished in a tie for 10th with 15 team points. Wellington-Napoleon won with 165 points.
The Jamestown girls took 10th with 26 team points. Glasgow won with 105 points, beating out Santa Fe by a single point.
While the top-eight finishers accumulate points for the team scores, only the top-four finishers advance to sectionals.
