Your Opinion: Vindictive acts in the Legislature

Dear Editor:

After reading the headlines in the April 25 newspaper "House tries to outlaw federal gun laws," I just had to write this letter.

The legislation to cut funds from the Missouri license bureau and give money to the sheriff's department so they can produce the conceal and carry gun permits currently being done by the various license bureaus.

Apparently there is some questions as to whether the Department of Revenue was giving the federal government a list of the people in Missouri who have a permit to carry a canceled weapon.

Sounds a lot like revenge to me and the legislation is all for the benefit of less than 200,000 Missouri residents. It also sounds like the sponsor or sponsors of this legislation pick and choose which part of the United States Constitution they will live by. They love the Second Amendment but choose to ignore Article VI of the same Constitution.

Then there were the representatives who were removed from committees or panels because the committee chair or the House speaker did not like their votes. Did you read that in the paper? Didn't like their votes.

Who are these people showing such selfish, arrogant and vindictive behavior and who in the state of Missouri would have voted for them? How can they possibly believe their actions are representative of the majority of Missouri voters.
