Eleven area basketball players named to coaches' teams

Several area basketball players were named all-state by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.

Helias senior Taylor Hagenhoff was honored in Class 4. She averaged 15.2 points per game this season for the Lady Crusaders.

A number of area players made the list in Class 3. On the boys side, senior Nick Carlos of Southern Boone and senior Patrick Schnieders of Fatima were honored.

Carlos, a Central Michigan commit, averaged 24.5 points per game this season for the Eagles while Schnieders had 22.3 points per game.

Fatima coach Ryan Robertson was named the Class 3 Coach of the Year after leading the Comets to the Final Four.

On the girls side in Class 3, junior Sydney Deeken of California and junior LeeAnn Polowy of Blair Oaks were named to the team. Deeken led the Lady Pintos with 17.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, while Polowy finished her season averaging 17.4 points per game.

Class 2 saw a pair of honorees. Senior Ethan Koechner of Tipton was named to the boys team while senior Kennedy Volkart of Russellville was honored on the girls side. Volkart helped the Lady Indians win a district title as she averaged 13.4 points per game. Stats were not available for Koechner.

Chamois and St. Elizabeth were well represented on the Class 1 girls team. Seniors Miranda Brandt and Alyssa Bullock of Chamois were honored for helping the team reach the Final Four. Brandt averaged 19.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per game while Bullock averaged 9.2 points per contest.

Juniors Savannah Stiles and Allie Heckemeyer of St. Elizabeth also were honored. Heckemeyer finished the year averaging 14 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. Stiles averaged 18 points per game.

The all-state team picked by media outlets has not been released yet.
