Helias scores two come-from-behind wins

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Helias baseball team is in the win column thanks to a pair of come-from-behind wins.

The Crusaders picked up wins against Kirksville and Quincy Notre Dame on Saturday.

Helias opened the day with a 5-3 victory against Kirksville. Kirskville scored three runs in the third to take a 3-0 lead. But Helias answered with five runs in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead and held on in the final inning.

Cole Distler led Helias with two hits while Joe Reinkemeyer had three RBI.

Trevor Schnieders picked up the win, striking out nine in the complete game.

Helias defeated Quincy Notre Dame 3-2 in the nightcap.

Schnieders and Reinkemeyer had three hits each for Helias.

The Crusaders trailed 2-0 after five innings but scored three runs in the sixth to pull ahead for good.

Distler picked up the win while striking out five.

Helias (2-2) is scheduled to play again Monday against Boonville.
